Introduction of Express Cargo Division
To speed up Customs clearance and improve administrative efficiency, the Express Cargo Division was established at Taipei Customs (Former Taipei Customs office) in 1995. We provide 24/7 Customs clearance service and take charge of the following duties:
1. inspection, evaluation and taxation of plane-side release cargo (fresh and perishable goods, live animals and plants, time-sensitive newspapers and documents, dangerous goods, radioactive materials, human remains or ashes, corpses, and other emergency or necessary goods specially approved to be delivered at the plane-side) and express cargo (gross weight of 70 kgs or less per package/bag, other than controlled commodities, contraband, articles which infringe intellectual property rights, protected wildlife and its products prescribed in the Customs Act)
2. cargo terminal monitoring management, airfield patrol, and cargo escort affairs
3. assisting the clearance process of unaccompanied baggage of passengers
4. supporting inspection, evaluation and taxation on general import and export cargo in non-office hours
