The Hsinchu Science Park was established by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Executive Yuan in 1980. The goals of establishing Hsinchu Science Park are to introduce high technology industries, attract the talents in science and technology, enhance reginal integration and innovation capacity, stimulate domestic industrial innovation, and facilitate the development of high technology industries. The enterprises located in the Hsinchu Science Park and engage in manufacturing or research and development of high technology products or services are eligible for the right of bonded.

Customs in Hsinchu Science Park
Hsinchu Science Park Section, Clearance Division II is in charge of the Hsinchu Science Park, including importation, exportation clearance, and inspection of bonded goods. The enterprises under the inspection of the customs announcement shall be accounted for and controlled by its imported goods and shall enjoy preferential tax contributions:

Import machinery, equipment, raw materials, materials, fuel, semi-products, samples and finished products
for trade importedfrom abroad are exempt from import tax, excise tax and sales tax. -
For export of products or services, the sales tax rate is zero and the excise tax is exempt.

1.Goods imported from abroad
Imported goods entering Hsinchu Science Park shall be declared to the Customs of discharge place, where the manifest of the container (goods) is declared, with a deposition application form (B6). The customs shall release cargoes according to the clearance paper or the permit of delivery.
2.Goods from bonded areas
Goods entering Hsinchu Science Park from bonded factories, export processing zones and science parks shall be declared with export declaration (B2), and those from bonded warehouses or other logistics centers shall be declared with import declaration (D7).
3.Goods from dutiable areas
The taxpayer shall fill in the export declaration (B1) and declare to Hsinchu Science Park. The goods just like normal flow export Air Cargo Clearance, Customs clearance types: C1, C2, C3.
4.Goods bound for countries abroad
The enterprises of Hsinchu Science Park shall fill in the export declaration (B8) or (B9).
(B8: re-export of bonded goods, B9: export of bonded finished products)
5.Goods bound for bonded areas
For goods delivered to bonded factories, export processing zones, science parks, bonded warehouses or other logistics centers, an import declaration is required (D7).
6.Goods bound for dutiable areas
The taxpayer shall fill in the import declaration (G2) and declare to the Hsinchu Science Park. The goods just like normal flow Import Air Cargo Clearance, Customs clearance types: C1, C2, C3.
