| Introduction of Clearance Division II |
| Clearance Division II takes charge of: the bonded cargo clearance; approval and supervision of customs brokers, warehouses, carriers, forwarders, bonded factories, bonded warehouses, logistics centers, duty-free shops, bonded transportations and free trade zone businesses; import and export clearance at Hsinchu Science Park; and management of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program. Bonded cargo refers to the goods imported and stored in bonded area without paying customs duty and to be processed for export. Duties of bonded cargo are written off by export or paid when entering the taxation area. The purpose is to reduce the manufacturing costs and enhance the competitiveness of Taiwanese companies. The bonded areas that Taipei Customs manages including bonded factories, bonded warehouses, logistics centers and duty-free shops in north of Hsinchu and Hualien as well as the Farglory Free Trade Zone at the Taoyuan International Airport and businesses in Hsinchu Science Park. To cope with trade globalization, we are sparing no efforts in promoting the AEO program, aiming to facilitate international cargo flow so as to enhance the competitiveness of businesses. |
