Taipei Customs Urges Duty-payers to Pay Duties As Early As Possible Before the Lunar New Year

Taipei Customs stated that the Lunar New Year will begin from January 25th to February 2nd, 2025, with a total of 9 consecutive holidays. If the time limits for duty payment falls into the period of the Lunar New Year, Taipei Customs urges taxpayers to make payments as early as possible. Once if the duty cannot be paid before January 25th, 2025, Taipei Customs advised taxpayers to make prompt payment on February 3rd, 2025. Those who fail to pay before the aforementioned date will be subject to delinquent fee. In this regard, Taipei Customs reminded manufacturers or customs brokers who adopt the "Post-release Duty Payment" should provide a sufficient guarantee amount, so as to ensure that customs clearance go smoothly.
