Keelung Customs (KLC) processes the clearance of nearly 1.4 million units of import/export containers each year, approximately 4,000 units each day. Owing to limited space in the Keelung Port area, most containers are inspected in inland container terminals upon arrival or before departure. Besides, containers transited to Taichung and Kaohsiung are also monitored by KLC. Hence, container movement supervision is also one of the main jobs for KLC. This Agency has adopted the following measures to enhance control：building Container Movement Tracing System, intensifying Customs Information System (CIS), and implementing Autonomous Management for compliant warehouses and container terminals.
