1. How to find your mail parcel?
As the Taichung Customs doesn't store goods, we are unable to locate your mail parcel. Tracking can be done by Changhua Post who transported the items on your behalf.
Overseas mail parcels designated to Taichung, Changhua and Nantou, arrive at Chunghwa Post Yingcai office in Taichung where they are screened by Customs.
Chunghwa Post then delivers your parcel, unless more information or document is needed. If this is the case, they'll send you a letter in green.
The letter will say they hold your parcel awaiting Customs clearance and provide information to proceed.
There is a Customs case number (5 to 6 digitals) on the left upper corner of the green letter. You need the number when contact Customs.
2. Duty levy on your mail parcel
- Parcels value (includes insurance and freight) under NTD2,000
No taxes or duty will be imposed.
- Parcels value between NTD2, 000(includes insurance and freights) to USD5, 000
Customs will issue a “Duty Memo for Foreign Imports by Parcel Post”. The memo will be presented when Changhua Post delivering the parcel to you. Duty and tax is expected to be collect on site.
- Parcels value over USD5, 000:
The letter in green will say you need to arrange for clearance (to file a declaration) through a customs broker.
