Taichung Customs Conducts Procedure of Customs Broker Calibration This Year

Taichung Customs stated that according to Article 9 of the "Regulations Governing the Establishment and Management of Customs Brokers", the customs authority issues a customs broker operating license to all approved customs broker establishment applications; moreover, the customs authority shall conduct a calibration procedure every five years. Customs Brokers approved before last year (112) are required to comply with the calibration process this year (113). Currently, most of 130 customs brokers affiliated with Taichung Customs have completed the application submission process, and it is estimated that all calibration cases will be executed by November.
Taichung Customs further stated, in order to enhance administrative efficiency, Customs is studying the online calibration applications system for customs brokers. It is expected that in the next calibration year, customs brokers will be allowed to connect with the customs system via the Customs-Port-Trade(CPT)Single Window. The calibration applications can be filed electronically to the Customs. This will achieve the benefits of less paper, process speeding, and lower costs for businesses.
Taichung Customs expresses that in order to meet the trend of energy saving, carbon reduction, and environmental protection, Customs keeps on bettering online declaration systems to provide convenient application channels for the public. For example, Paperless export clearance process saves the need of physical documentation for export. Not only does it simplify procedures, but also accelerates customs clearance. Customs Brokers are encouraged to make more use of this system. If you still have questions, please contact the Export Section, Clearance Division II, Tel: 04-26565101 extension 110.
