What kind of food products am I allowed to carry into Taiwan regarding tightening border inspections against African swine fever(ASF)?

Generally speaking, almost all kinds of meat products made from land animals are not permitted to carry into Taiwan because of not meeting the processing and quarantine criteria. Incoming passengers carring such products without declaring to customs shall be fined an amount ranging from NT$10,000 to NT$1,000,000 pursuant to the Statute for Prevention and Control of Infectious Animal Disease.

To keep ASF out of Taiwan, the competent authority had banned the import of all kinds of pork products from ASF infected area. Passengers in first time violation shall be fined NT$200,000 regardless of nationalities. Foreigners would be repatriated if they had not paid the fine at the border.

For questions about whether or it is allowed or not to carry other food products, please refer the "Travelers/Arrival/Agriculture and Food products".

In case of any discrepancy between the English version and the Chinese version, the latter shall prevail.
