Could articles I took out of Taiwan be free of duty on my return?

It would be eligible for duty-free re-entry if you had completed a registration on departure.

Please bring the articles to be taken abroad to the customs service center at airport prior to checking flight, and complete a “Record of To-be-reimported Articles by Outward Passengers or Crew”.

The customs officer on duty will return a stamped copy, which is not transferable, following a comparison between the articles and the written record and complete the registration. Articles registered will be exempted from duty on your subsequent return.

Notes: The charges of foreign repairs or alterations to articles are dutiable.

In case of any discrepancy between the English version and the Chinese version, the latter shall prevail.
