Postal Cargoes(Mask)

Import

1.When importing either medical or non-medical masks, a permit from the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs (BOFT) is required. Starting July 27, 2021, due to the continued epidemic of severe infectious pneumonia, the import of a total of 250 masks or less, regardless of medical or non-medical, are exempted from the BOFT’s import permit. Importers need to fill in the special license-free code FT999999999998 on the import declaration.

2.To import medical masks, an importer will need either a license or an approval document issued by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), and apply for import inspection as well. For the purpose of self-use, individuals do not need to apply for import inspection. The MOHW stipulates that the import of a total of 250 medical masks or less is exempted from applying for a license. Importers need to fill in the special license-free code DHM99999999208 on the import declaration.
