Tax Refund Service for Vehicle Replacement/Upgrade: One-Click Download of Application Results Now Available

To further improve the convenience of applying for commodity tax incentives on the purchase of imported new vehicles, Customs has introduced a new function for downloading application results through the Customs-Port-Trade Single Window. Effective immediately, applicants who complete identity verification can check the real-time status of their applications online and download their application results with a single click for easy recordkeeping, eliminating the need to visit Customs offices in person.
Customs Administration of the Ministry of Finance stated that purchasers of imported new motor vehicles may apply for a commodity tax refund or a fixed-amount commodity tax reduction, provided they meet the eligibility requirements under the Commodity Tax Act. Customs already provides a one-stop online service for submitting applications and checking application status. To further streamline the application process, the new download function eliminates the need to review application status page by page through the Customs-Port-Trade Single Window. Applicants can now download and retain their complete application records in a single operation, making future reference easier while improving the efficiency and convenience of document management.
Customs Administration further explained that import vehicle dealers may log in to the Customs-Port-Trade Single Window using either a Business Entity Digital Certificate or an authorized Citizen Digital Certificate. They may submit applications and download application results through (MI55) Application for Commodity Tax Refund on the Purchase of Imported New Small Motor Vehicles and (MI03) Upload of Detailed List for Fixed-Amount Commodity Tax Reduction on Replacement of Old Vehicles with New Ones. Applicants may also check the processing status of their applications through (GC335) Inquiry on the Processing Status of Applications for Commodity Tax Refund on the Purchase of Imported New Small Motor Vehicles and (GC332) Inquiry on the Processing Status of Commodity Tax Reduction Applications for Vehicle Replacement.
Customs Administration emphasized that Customs processes approximately 4,000 applications each year, covering commodity tax refunds or reductions for about 60,000 vehicles. Import vehicle dealers and vehicle owners are encouraged to make full use of the Customs-Port-Trade Single Window to submit applications, check application status, and download application results online without visiting Customs offices, saving both time and travel costs. For assistance, please contact the Customs-Port-Trade Single Window Service Center toll-free at 0800-299-889, where dedicated staff are available to provide support.
