If one exports pets involving quarantine issues or in need of a certificate or approval for customs clearance, please make the formal export clearance to the customs.

 

I. Export Regulation

  1. Quarantine Regulation
      A quarantine certificate issued by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Agency, Ministry of Agriculture (APHIA) is required for the following situations:
        a. Exporting pets listed on the Consolidated List of Commodities Subject to Export Restriction and Commodities Assisted by Customs for Export Examination.
        b. Exporting pets to the country which has quarantine requirements.

  2. The Wildlife Conservation Act
      Exportation of species regulated by the Wildlife Conservation Act also requires a permit issued by the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Ministry of Agriculture (Protected Land Species) or Ocean Conservation Administration (Protected Marine Species).

  3. Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)
For exportation of CITES-listed species, a permit or certificate issued by the Bureau of Foreign Trade is required.
