Kaohsiung Customs (KHC) held the 2019 Bonded Business Personnel Seminar on October 18, 2019. The purpose of the seminar was to enhance communication and understanding between Customs and the private sectors. The seminar covered not only changes of rules related to bonded goods operations but also computerization of inventory systems in bonded factories. KHC further highlighted that a total of 30 excellent bonded factories and 72 excellent bonded business personnel were commended and awarded the certificates of merit by Mr. Arthur C. W. Yang, Director of the agency at the said seminar.
KHC indicated that the bonded factories ranked by Customs as “Excellent” can improve their business profile, and are only subject to minimum customs intervention. For example, there is no need for Customs to implement on-site audits case by case while verifying yield rates. In addition, if Customs needs to conduct an on-the-spot audit, the rate of random checks will be lower than that for general factories. Customs highly valued those excellent bonded business personnel for their dedication as the bridges between Customs and the factories.
